Configuring Billing Alerts in Airbyte Cloud

Billing alerts help you stay on top of usage-based costs and avoid surprises. With a few simple notifications, you can track when spend is trending up, catch unusually expensive syncs, and get early visibility into changes before an invoice is finalized.

Available alert types

  1. High-cost sync alert
Get notified when a single sync consumes over a specified dollar amount.

  2. Invoice growth alert
Get notified when your upcoming invoice has increased by a specified percentage.

  3. Invoice threshold alert
Get notified when your upcoming invoice exceeds a specified dollar amount.

How to set up or change billing alerts

You can enroll in billing alerts or update your thresholds at any time from your organization settings.

  1. Go to Organization settings in Airbyte Cloud.

  2. Select Billing.

  3. Click Set up billing alerts.

  4. Fill out the form with your desired thresholds (dollar amounts and/or percentage).

  5. Click Submit to save your changes.

Tip: If you’re not sure what thresholds to use, start with values that match your typical monthly spend (for example, an “upcoming invoice exceeds” amount slightly above your normal range) and refine over time.

Troubleshooting and best practices

  • Not receiving default notifications? Confirm the billing email on file is correct and that your inbox/spam filters allow billing emails.

  • Too many alerts? Increase thresholds so you only get notified for meaningful changes (for example, a higher per-sync amount or a higher percentage increase).

  • Multiple stakeholders: Consider using a shared billing alias (e.g., finance@ / billing@) so the right people see notifications.
